Who is BIGSTRATUS?

BIGSTRATUS is an artist/creator who advocates others to make art! The artist connects with their online community through blogs, videos, and podcasts + in-person community with meet ups, art shows, and more! Starting from a passion, BIGSTRATUS intends to lead their life with consistency and love.

Inspired by every day life and the simplicities of slow living, BIGSTRATUS incorporates this lifestyle with their creative process. Nature and life plays a big part in most of their artistic subjects. The creative loves to experiment with various mediums. In all, they’re an artist who embraces change and improvement easily.

Our Mission

During the 2020 quarantine, BIGSTRATUS established their spot on the vast ocean of the internet. The artist uses their paintings, drawings, upcycled fashion, bullet journaling, crochet, illustrations, and all their other creative outlets to express themselves. In doing so, BIGSTRATUS curates a space for other artists to join along and create what their heart desires.

5 years in short

Graduated from Frederick Community College with a major in Arts & Humanities, concentration in Art. Studied Illustration, 2D & 3D Studio Art, and Art History. Featured in 3 exhibitions for Mary Condon Hodgson Art Gallery, May ‘22, Dec ‘22, May ‘23. In addition, their piece “Contained” was selected for the college’s cover of their Student Publication, Tuscarora Review 2023.

Has hosted 2 solo exhibitions at Cowork Frederick, Sept. ‘22 and Aug. ‘23. Featured in a group exhibition at Eastside Artist Gallery Feb. ‘22.

Hosted and co-produced “The Y Arts Podcast” from Mar.-Aug. ‘24. A podcast highlighting all kinds of artists based in the Frederick, MD area. From solo and group musicians, Executive members of the art society, dancers, visual artists, young and old, BIGSTRATUS and Robin Smith opened creative conversations for the city to hear.

The artist recently moved base from Frederick, MD to Pittsburgh, PA, Aug. ‘24. The artist strives to curate a new creative network organically without relying on social media.
